Bessie Zhang, Partner

I have more than 23 years’ professional experience, including 11 years in external audit and quality control with KPMG in Sydney and Beijing, two years as Chief Financial Officer of a large ASX-listed company, and 10 years as an Audit Partner at SW.

I have led audit and advisory teams for initial public offering projects and multinational clients across a wide range of industries, including mining, industrial markets, consumer markets, and professional services.

Before joining SW, I served as Chief Financial Officer of an ASX-listed mining company, where I developed extensive experience in corporate governance, financial management, and risk management. My broader experience spans accounting, auditing, and corporate management.

My experience includes:

• understanding both Australian accounting standards (AIFRs) and PRC GAAPs. I have been qualified for Australia’s and China’s CPA for more than 10 years and 16 years respectively. I am familiar with PRC GAAPs and international financial reporting standards (IFRS)
• knowledge in managing international companies. I have led auditing and advisory engagements involving national and international companies
• understanding the financial impact and risk management perspectives of sales and purchase agreements
• liaising with ASIC and responding to ASIC’s financial reporting surveillance inspection requirements.

In 2026, I am serving my second term as a member of SW’s Executive Board. I am also a member of SW’s Quality and Risk Committee and Chair of the firm’s Energy and Resources Industry Group.

Externally, I am a council member of China Chamber of Commerce in Australia (“CCCA”) Brisbane and Perth Branch and the Chairperson of the Professional Service Committee of CCCA Perth.

I am a Partner of SW Audit and a Director of SW Accountants & Advisors Pty Ltd.
